Seeing Things As They Are
Why seeing the world as it is, before the crowd, can be more of a curse than a blessing
As I’m working to finally finish up The Pact Book III, I came back across this passage that I wrote nearly two years ago. Quite interesting giving recent events and unravelings:
“If this war has been going on for centuries, why are you so sure that we can end it within our lifetime?”
“There are several lessons within your personal history of education that are paramount here. First, consider that the global connectedness of society through technology allows a dissemination of information at scale that has never before been possible. The dark ones have tried to co-opt that information distribution through the censorship or hijacking of any message that threatens them, but we’ve found a way around that. It’s not only been deployed within your teams, but also within other nodes of our Alliance. Now, as the forces that we’re battling require that their plans not be known by the greater public, what do you think happens when the absolute truth of who they are, what they’ve done, what they plan, and who their members are, suddenly become revealed in such a manner to the general public that it cannot be denied?”
“Game over.”
“Precisely. It’s a concerted effort, but our mission is to identify the critical nodes and destroy them while at the same time awakening the global populace to who and what our enemies truly are.”
“What about the men and the teams? Bulldog? Am I coordinating with them?”
“No, they have their own missions and are part of the direct conflict. They are tasked with taking out the kinetic, warfaring arms of the enemy, while your job is to go after the planning and funding. I will say, however, that some of the teams are already starting to figure out that there is a greater war at hand.”
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“I’ll just say that they’re starting to realize that some of the targets they believed to be order-givers are merely taking orders from others outside of their stated chains-of-command. This war is being fought against concentric circles of hierarchies. As they focus on the outer circle, your targets are the inner.”

This is what I needed to hear today.
So glad you are still working on the book! I thought you had JRR Martined us for sure!
Excited to see how it ....ends?
